Nico always knew he was meant to be working with sound. “When I was thirteen, I took apart my grandma’s valve radio, to try and get my first electric guitar connected. When I heard that fuzz sound emerge from the tinny speaker, I was hooked. And she wasn’t too pleased.”
In his twenties, Nico fronted indie bands and was signed as a songwriter in Berlin, Germany. He gained experience working in recording studios including the famous Hansa, and had his songs and tracks licensed for TV series.
Having spent many years raising a family, working in media companies, and managing a boutique software company, Nico has returned to his core passion - creating and playing music.
“I’m just hearing and processing sounds and songs in my head constantly, and grab a guitar or synth to get something created. It may be a riff, a melody or half a song, those creative moments just happen. Then getting the arrangement done, instruments and sounds selected, recorded and performed brings me joy.”
Nico lives and creates mainly from his home recording studio in Dorking, England. “It’s a great town, lots of nature and a bit of an indie vibe, and within easy reach of London.”
